A long furred coal black figure stood the rippling stream water, with a single paw raised. Her long, gleaming white claws protruded in contrast to her dark pelt. Hesitation tensed up the cat's muscles as their dark blue eyes flicked back and forth in expectance across the smooth stream water. Something caught her eye. With a satisfied yowl, Nightclaw scooped a sleek, silver fish out of the water, catching it easily in her teeth with a sign of expertise. Her head proudly raised before she dumped the dead fish in the grass beside another dead silver fish. Nightclaw licked her sweaty pelt briefly before shaking her fur. The steaming hot weather annoyed Nightclaw's pelt to no end. If only, she had a bright white pelt the color of snow. Then, she wouldn't have to deal with the unbearable heat that her pelt carried around everywhere. With a yowl of fury, Nightclaw leaped into the stream, splashing about until her pelt was fully soaked, before stepping out and shivering. Humiliation flickered into Nightclaw's gaze. What a kit I've behaved like! Thank StarClan no one was here to see it...

Waterclaw slowly padded into the clearing and saw Nightclaw shake some water off
''Did you have a nice swim ?'' he joked
''I would have gone in too but i'm so tired, i think i'll skip my duties and rest in the warriors den again today..'' he trailed off, loving the thought.

Gazeclaw came out from behind the bushes too, following Waterclaw and eyed her friend Nightclaw with a kind gaze. But, she was of course amused, since she had found Nightclaw splashing in the river like a squealing excited kit.
''Waterclaw.'' she mewed sternly after hearing his comment. ''You are supposed to do your Warrior duties, not laze about in the sun waiting for your clanmates to do the job for you.
She slunk around him, dodging him completely with her head raised smugly and padded to stand next to Nightclaw.
''Let's catch some more fish.'' she soothed to her friend.
She then shot a glance at Waterclaw. ''You must come too, you lazy mouse-brain!'' she scoffed.
Though she seemed to be stern towards him , she was actually being playful. It was recognisable by the look of her flicking tail and her soft purr that was almost inaudible.

''Yes-yes, i'm coming'' he said defeated.
He shuffled closer to the river and poked his head over to search for fish
''Um, you know... i've never been good at catching fish, i'm sure i'll just be in the way'' he then walked hurridly in the opposite direction hoping to get back to camp before the troublesome she-cat caught him.

Gazeclaw sighed and rolled her eyes.
That tom was always so irresponsible! He never did his duties when the clan needed him most, and he was running away from having to do any work yet again!
She turned her head to face Nightclaw. ''Don't you think he has bees in his brain???'' she asked her. Her tail curled over feet as she sat down and she watched Nightclaw intensely, waiting for an answer. Though she already knew what her friend would say. They were so alike, and that's why they liked each other.

Nightclaw licked her wet, rumpled fur as she listened to Waterclaw and Gazeclaw. "Most certainly," Nightclaw replied to Gazeclaw before turning to Waterclaw, "Besides, if you can't catch fish very well, you should learn. We are too, capable warriors right here. I've never been a mentor really or taught anyone much of anything, but it can't possibly be that hard." Nightclaw's tail curled around her paws. "Anyways, I think I can suggest myself because I happen to be good at fishing." Nightclaw gestured with her head to the two fish she had already caught that were lying in the grass. "But if you insist, I guess we could hunt somewhere else..." [/blockquote] |

Gazeclaw mewed in surprise as she heard her friend speak, and casted an angry glance to Waterclaw. A growl rumbled in her throat. ''We'll be fine, won't we??'' she asked, clearly pinpointing it on Waterclaw.

Nightclaw flicked her tail in the air, raising her head to her full height, and glaring menacingly at Waterclaw. "Won't we?" Nightclaw repeated slowly and carefully.

Kurosight walked to the stream slowly, memorizing every scent and object by touch and smell. Growling softly she tripped over a rock slightly. Gathering herself she followedthe scent of water and the sounds of it moving. Finally she made it. LIstening to the other warriors talk about hunting, she sighed softly I can't help them, all I ever did was a few kits' She thought. Silently walking to the river she sat down by the waters edge and concreted on the sounds. Within moments she found the source of the loudest sound and swiped a fish out of the water beside.

"Sure" Kurosight said, somewhat unsure. "Are we going to hunt here, or elsewhere?" She asked. Then blushed realizing how stupid that queston was, "Sorry, Should have realized that." She mumbled to herself. Focusing on the sounds dancing over and under the water's edge she tried getting another fish.
